Online English lessons for Immigration

KIWI@HOME started business in 2008 teaching English to foreign students and we have over 30 years' experience in this field. Now that English tests are necessary for work visas as well as residence, we are again offering our unique English teaching system to clients who need IELTS or PTE for their visa applications.

Our system is a learner driven model so lesson time is used as effciently as posisble. Learners are taught how to drive their own learning, and lessons are less frequent but more effective. All lessons are done online and scheduling is flexible, so if you are currently working, or are overseas, we can still provide flexible and effective lessons for you. Our system is unique because it is aimed at giving learners the maximum improvement at the minimum cost. You will be taught not only about grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, etc, but also how to learn and how to drive your learning so you can improve quickly. The lessons are run on a ticket system, with the cost of lessons depending on how many are purchased in advance.

Learners will prepurchase a set number of lessons depending on their need for tuition. Unused lessons may be transferred to other learners if the English test is passed with lessons to spare. The cost per lesson will depend on the amount of lesson tickets purchased at the time. 1 lesson ticket is 1 hour duration.

Maximum class size of 5 learners.

To create a group, learners need to organize the group themselves before registration with an expectation that level and learning needs be at a similar level. Our teachers will do a level check for you and advise if the group is not suitable. Test type (IELTS or PTE) needs to be agreed on by all learners.

Basic rules

Each lesson ticket is a one hour lesson
Make sure you have a suitable internet connection, webcam and headset.
Lesson tickets are not refundable but may be transferred to another person or held by your employer if they agree.
The cost of lessons is found by the tables above, multiply the rate buy the amount of hours you think you need. E.g. if you need 17 hours of private lessons, this is 17 x $45 = $765 (+ GST if you are in New Zealand)
Lessons may be rescheduled or missed with 24 hours notice. Group lessons will only be rescheduled if all members of the group agree to the rescheduling. Being absent from class without prior notice or insufficient notice will result in that ticket being counted a used.
Learners are expected to be active in their learning and spend more than just the class time in preparation.
Group lesson learners can only change groups if another suitable group is available. If a new learner wishes to join a group, all current members of the group must agree. If agreement is reached the current members will be compensated by adding a lesson credit at the lower rate for the new learner number where applicable
